Letter to Editor: Walz For Dad (and VP)

August 8, 2024 by Letter to Editor

Share

So it’s Tim Walz for Vice President. Oh my! A dad! Seeing his picture, my first thought was my daddy: the round, open face and the warm smile.

A dad, not just because he has two children. A dad to soldiers, students, and athletes.

Then he got to Congress, and he turned into a firebrand, taking the floor, again and again, to advocate for the people of his state and the best interests of the American people in straightforward language delivered rapid-fire, with never so much as an um or a little joke, never a cast of aspersion, but with earnest passion, never pausing until braking with a crisp “I yield back.”

No wonder Republicans voted with Democrats to elect him Governor.

Odds on, Kamala Harris’ envisaging a big role for Tim Walz as Vice President.

Very very well said … a perfect commentary. Let’s hope a debate is scheduled between VP candidates. I think Tim will eat JD’s lunch!

It’s scary to think anyone could be so quick to endorse a candidate as the country’s vice president without knowing anything about them except they are a parent and speak in “straight forward” language. The world is too dangerous right now to have such an unserious approach to our leaders’ qualifications

Absolutely agree. What was Trump thinking picking JD!

  3. Liz Freedlander says

I think he is a great antidote to the negativity, contention and pessimism that is the current state of our nation. His life story is quintessentially American. “Joy” in a political campaign message! What an uplifting notion! He makes me very hopeful.

Tim Walz is going to be a great vice president. He is a smart, grounded midwesterner to run with Kamala Harris. What a terrific team.

We don’t need a nice guy for VP and a clueless liberal wack job for president. We need leaders that will make a U-turn and restore economic sense and strength to our country. Biden-Harris has been a disaster and Harris has concealed how debilitated Biden has been over the last 3.5 years.

I lived in SF when Kamala was DA and AG. She was the antithesis of “wack job” winning 90% of the cases she prosecuted and successfully taking on sex abusers, corrupt businesses and the big banks.

40 of 44 Trump’s cabinet members and close advisors now warn us of his danger but concealed his clear mental illness during his entire term. (Diagnosed as a psychopath by country’s leading psychiatrists in The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump which I encourage all to read).

And regarding the VP being nice, well that’s nice especially compared to the ever so weird JD.
