The A. James & Alice B. Clark Foundation has announced that it will match donations made to the Friends of the Easton Volunteer Fire Department’s (EVFD) Public Safety Capital Campaign for its Emergency Services Training Campus in Easton, Maryland through September 30, 2024. The Clark Foundation’s match includes all private and local donations made until Friends of EVFD reaches its $5 million fundraising goal. To date, $3 million has been raised, including a $1 million investment from the Clark Foundation in September 2023.

The Emergency Services Training Campus, located at 9095 Mistletoe Drive, is a state-of-the-art training campus that will serve the town of Easton, fire departments, emergency service personnel, law enforcement, and paramedics in Talbot County. There currently is no combined first responder training facility in Talbot County or on the Mid-Shore.

“The Clark Foundation remains committed to supporting the Friends of Easton Volunteer Fire Department as they raise the remaining funds needed to build the Emergency Services Training Campus in Easton,” said Clark Foundation President and CEO Joe Del Guercio. “Providing Talbot County’s first responders with the training they need is essential, it impacts the lives of every resident, and we hope this match will encourage the community to join us in supporting this campaign.”

“We are so grateful for how the A. James & Alice B. Clark Foundation continues to support this project in such significant ways,” commented Brett Whitehead, Co-Chairman of the campaign. “They acknowledge the critical need in our county for a coordinated delivery of training to hundreds of first responders.”

The Friends of EVFD wish to thank the following donors: The A. James & Alice B. Clark Foundation, the Easton Rotary, Easton Utilities, Bruce and Sandy Hammonds, Millar Family Foundation,  the Joel C. Leuchter Philanthropic Fund, Meoli Family McDonalds, Seip Family Foundation, Summit Bank, Preston Automotive Group, Akridge Family Foundation, Thomas Mitchell – Trappe Restaurants, David and Carol Bates, Dick and Ellen Bodorff, Joyce and Steve Doehler, Robert and Maureen Fogarty, Donald Martin, Richard and Diane Miller, Ken Schwab, Bill and Lisa Slater, Richard and Beverly Tilghman, Barbara and Bruce Watkins, Tom and Cathy Hill, Graham Lee, Tom Mitchell, Rich Osborn, Leslie Ware, Brett Whitehead, Stephen Wolf, Cheryl Palumbo, Jack Pettit, Tom Ettinger, Mike Ziegler, Millar Family Foundation, Susan Newnam, David Ghysels, John Ryan, and Scott Wagner.

To donate to the Emergency Services Training Campus Public Safety Campaign, contact Brett Whitehead at (302) 236-6249 or by email at [email protected] or visit foevfd.org.
