After arriving home after a nice visit to St. Michaels Harbor with my wife, she realized her wallet was missing. A call to and a much-appreciated search by the St. Michaels police turned up nothing. We immediately started listing all the calls to report lost cards and to order replacements. We also accepted that the cash was gone forever. Minutes later, there was a knock at our front door. A couple told us they had found her wallet. They stopped to deliver it on their drive home to Washington, DC. They refused any reward other than accepting our heartfelt thank you for their act of kindness.

My grandmother ( from Tilghman) and a friend had lunch in Kent Island where my grandmother lost her wallet. A lovely couple from Kent Island found it and called her that they had it. My grandmother didn’t drive so she contacted her lunch friend for her to set up a date that suited her and the couple to retrieve the wallet. A few days later when the arrived at the couple’s home in Kent Island not only did they have her wallet but “DINNER AWAITED THEM”! Kent Island couple simply said “ we could tell you were very nice people”. Needless to say the four became very good friends and did things together for many years. Kindness should be one of our constant companions.
