Share

Paul_berry2The Friends of the Talbot County Free Library are very excited to host award winning journalist Paul Berry on February 9, at 12 noon at the Easton Branch of the Talbot County Free Library.

Growing up in Detroit, Michigan, Mr. Berry was raised by his grandmother, Annie M. Talley, and his presentation will focus on the impact she had on his life.

Mr. Berry served with the Armed Forces Radio and Television Service in Vietnam, establishing the first independent FM radio station in South Vietnam.  He subsequently worked as anchor and reporter at WXYZ-TV in Detroit before joining ABC-7 in Washington, D.C. serving as senior news anchor and establishing the community services programs “Crimesolvers” and “Seven on Your Side”.  His career has included hosting “The Paul Berry Show”, producing and hosting his nationally syndicated radio talk show “Family Financials with Paul Berry,” and heading his own media consulting business. He has worked with numerous civic, charitable and professional organizations and is commissioner for Maryland Public Television.

Among Mr. Berry’s awards are National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Ted Yates Award, the 1986 Humanitarian Award of the National Martin Luther King, Jr. Student Leadership Conference, “Washingtonian of the Year” in 1991, and many others.  He now resides in Easton, MD.

Please join the Friends for this very special program, which is free and open to the public.  You are welcome to bring your lunch.  Light refreshments will be served. Please note, this month’s program is the 2nd Thursday of the month, instead of the usual 3rd Thursday.
