The Academy Art Museum recently attracted high school students from Cecil to Wicomico County who participated in its annual Portfolio Night. Area high school students attending the event are encouraged to bring their artwork to receive expert tips on what makes a winning portfolio from a panel of art school representatives and professional artists.
Representatives from several area art colleges, including the Delaware College of Art and Design, the Corcoran, University of Maryland, Baltimore County, Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, and Savannah College of Art and Design attended this year.
Constance Del Nero, Director of Art Reach & Community Programs at the Museum, comments, “The evening is ideal for high school seniors who are considering applying to art school and underclassmen who would like to get a leg up on preparing a strong portfolio. Parents, teachers and guidance counselors attended as well.”
