Allegra!, a prestigious 16-voice women’s ensemble, will be presenting two performances of Songs of Home. The first will be Friday, November 15, 7:00 p.m., at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, 315 Goldsborough Street in Easton. The second will be Sunday, November 17, 4:00 p.m., at St. Paul’s Church, 225 Morris Street in Oxford. Both performances are free to attend, all are welcome. Songs of Home will feature music by Kim André Arnesen, Sarah Quartel, Stacey V. Gibbs, and others. Also included is a stunning arrangement of “Shenandoah” with pianist Lyn Banghart. Allegra! was formed in the spring of 2019 and is directed by Amy Morgan, Allegro Academy Artistic Director. The group was met with full houses and standing ovations in it’s inaugural performances and has since been singing at a number of community events, most recently the Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast.
Allegra! is a program of Allegro Academy and is funded by the Maryland State and Talbot County Arts Councils.
