On Sunday, August 12 from 10am to 5pm, award-winning photographer John Werry will be at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum’s (CBMM) store from 10am to 5pm to meet the public and sign copies of his book, Chesapeake Views. The event coincides with Watermen’s Appreciation Day at the museum’s waterfront campus in St. Michaels, MD.
Werry draws upon his 40-year love affair with the Chesapeake Bay to inspire a book with more than 200 photographs. Included in this visual tour are images of wildlife, watermen making their living, working boats, classic boats on the bay, sunsets, and more.
Now living in Philadelphia, PA, Werry has spent 40 years on the Chesapeake Bay, including the most recent 10 years photographing its beauty.
The August 12 Watermen’s Appreciation Day is presented by the Talbot County Watermen’s Association (TCWA) in partnership with CBMM, and features a special appearance by the F/V Northwestern’s Edgar Hansen and Jake Anderson of the Discovery Channel’s “Deadliest Catch” show, as well as a crab feast, live music, boat docking contest, family activities, and more. Proceeds benefit TCWA and CBMM.
For more information about CBMM, visit www.cbmm.org or call 410-745-2916.
