Kids on Campus: Chesapeake Offers Summer Enrichment Camps for Children

Registration is now open for Chesapeake College’s popular summer enrichment program for children and teens. The Kids on Campus program, scheduled for June 22 through August 7, offers a variety of sessions designed for children in grades 2 through 11.

The Kids on Campus courses are divided into sections for children by the grades they are entering in Fall 2015. A “Counselor in Training” course will be offered for high school students. Tweens and young teens will be interested in the “Safe Sitter” class where they will learn basic lifesaving skills and fun tips for entertaining young children. Other course topics include arts/crafts, digital photography, Lego robotics, cheerleading, dance, culinary, digital video, sewing, drama, and ecological/wildlife studies.

“We are offering fun educational opportunities for children to help keep their minds stimulated over the summer in a safe environment. We are really excited about our course offerings. We have many talented educators or skilled professionals who will be teaching these courses,” said Program Director Anne White.

Each program session is a half-day, with two sessions per day scheduled for each age group. Participants may choose to participate in one or two sessions per day. Full-day camp participants will enjoy a supervised lunch break in the Skipjack Café. In addition to the program sessions, Chesapeake is offering morning and afternoon care with the Kids Club. The morning session will run from 7:30 to 9 a.m. and the afternoon session is from 4 to 5:30 p.m. For more information, please call Anne White at 410-827-5810 or
