The disAbility Coalition of Talbot County will host its 10th annual awards luncheon at the William Hill Manor Auditorium off Dutchman’s Lane in Easton, on Tuesday May 13th from 11:30-1:00. Tickets are $20.00 and must be reserved in advance.
The Lifetime Achievement award will be given to E.C.Townsend, Regional Director for the Division of Rehabilitation services who is retiring after more than 30 years of service to those living with a disability. The award for an individual who has demonstrated outstanding commitment to supporting job opportunities for people with disabilities goes to Anthony Savage, manager of the Easton Denny’s. The Easton Applebee’s is receiving recognition for outstanding support and advocacy for employees who have a disability.
The coalition has created a new award category of Personal Achievement recognizing extraordinary leadership from a person with a disability. Elizabeth Marks, will receive this award for her campaign to raise awareness of the dangers of driving while texting.
