Darn. As a former assistant professor at Washington College I was interested in the article. The school is a tremendous asset to the Eastern Shore and I hope they do well.
Unfortunately, only subscribers to the Baltimore Sun can read the article. I stopped them when a Trumper took over the paper and pretty much sold out the newsroom like Bezos has with the Washington Post.
I hope a local news outlet will get a reporter to do an article on what is happening at the school. Or maybe the Baltimore Banner will cover the story.

As a recent college grad from Chesapeake, I applied to Washington. The school tends to look down on locals, even older students, and the price is a killer for many, even with their so-called $20,000 “discount.” A lot of small liberal arts schools are dying because of their pride & price. They shot their goose in the late ’80s and ’90s, but honestly, that’s higher ed in general. Maybe Washington will hang on, or maybe the UMD system will take a look because the Shore really does need the brains.
Long story short: I ended up picking SU over them which sucks because us on the mid-shore suffer
