The Baltimore Sun reports that Rep. Andy Harris spent more money during the last election on contributions to fellow Trump supporters and right-wing candidates, than on “fundraising, campaign commercials or staff.”
The Baltimore County Republican, safe in the gerrymandered First Congressional District, “sent more than $325,000 from his 2020 campaign account to conservative groups and candidates” — including Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert and Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene.
He also donated $70,000 through his political action committee.

I’ve never given empty-suit Andy Harris any money and never will, but for those who have: how do you feel about your donations to him being forwardd to anti-democratic Q-Anon nuts liker Boebert and Greene? He’s bad enough on his own, but supporting those who are even worse is yet another disgraceful move by Andy.
Stephen Schaare says
To whomever, Are you saying Rep. Harris is not allowed to make political contributions? Did you expect him to financially support Democrats?
Sheila Vaughan says
No one states that Harris can’t legally make political contributions. The issue is one of morality. Someone needs to donate a spine to Andy Harris, a cowering, simpering toady to #45.
Michael Davis says
There are sane Republicans (called RINOs by Trump and his fellow American fascists) and there are out and out crazy Republicans, such as Geene and Boebert. Many corporations, and even the Chamber of Commerce, are no longer donating money to the American fascist Republicans. I’d bet that not all donators to Harris before this election would feel comfortable supporting a wingnut like Greene who believes that Jews have lasers that start forest fires. No one should have expected Harris to give money to Democrats, but it’s another matter to give money to Greene and Boebert. Hopefully, future potential donators will take that into account the next time Harris asks them for money.
Stephen Schaare says
Hi Michael, Have you considered running against Rep. Harris yourself? Why not?
P..R. Getson says
Well Steve, I had to laugh..though it’s hardly laughable in fact. The reported amount that Andy “contributed” was precisely the same as that which he has received from the Club-for-Growth PAC since they got him elected in 2010, now headed by former Republican congressman, McIntosh, and which actually supported 42 Republicans who refused to endorse Biden’s electoral victory. Club-for-Growth makes no secret of their overall ‘mission’ per Democrats, but has even gone so far as to smear Republican challengers they did not like as being “too moderate”. The contributed amount struck me a little like them wanting it back…. in some form. Like Eshelman’s regret and wanting his money back because of the fraudulent solicitation of his monies by Trump’s minions in True-the-Vote which he provided to help demonstrate putative voter fraud they professed, until of course it was obvious there was none of consequence. At least a medical donor group–CareFirst PAC, associated with the largest BC-BS of Maryland, has pulled their support for Harris after his Jan. 6 floor antics, as well as his being among all of the other members of Congress from whom CareFirst will suspend contributions after these members all voted against certifying the electoral college results. Hard to say who may be next to withhold support, but redistricting is also coming; suffice it to say 2022 is going to be interesting. Michael has touched on the same. It’s too bad we have to wait that long.
