The Bay Country Chorus offers to make Valentines Day truly memorable. For less than the cost of a dozen roses, a Barbershop quartet will deliver a Singing Valentine that says, “I love you,” to a very special someone.
Dressed in tuxedos, the singers will perform a cappella arrangements of songs including “Let Me Call You Sweetheart” and “My Wild Irish Rose.”
At the end, singers give the recipient a rose and card with the donor’s name or customized message.
Any location in Dorchester, Queen Anne, and Talbot county can become a stage. Offices, homes, senior centers, memory-care units, restaurants, any location qualifies if someone special is there.

“There’s something about a crowd of friends and family that magnifies the joy. You could say, ‘The more, the merrier,'” said John Crovo, chorus president.
And men can receive Singing Valentines, too. It’s the thought that counts, ladies.
Singing Valentines cost $45. They may be ordered by phone by calling Mr. Crovo at (410) 820-4761.
New this year, the valentines may also be reserved online by visiting www.baycountrychorus.com.
Proceeds support the chorus, which sang to about 3,400 people last year and performed 19 “sing outs” in senior centers, hotels, a baseball stadium, and community festivals. The non-profit chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society accepts a stipend when funds are available, but often performs free.
