If you’re a fan of the Allman Brothers Band, Gov’t Mule, or Derek Trucks, you won’t want to miss Jamie McLean performing with his band Thursday at the NightCat. The songwriter, singer, and guitarist has played with Dave Matthews, Norah Jones, Elvis Costello, the Black Crowes and the Dirty Dozen Brass Band.
Saturday, in Easton you can hit the farmers’ market and then check out the Multicultural Festival. This annual event celebrates the cultural diversity of the community through unity in music, dance, art, crafts, games, food, fellowship and more.
Further afield, the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum is hosting not only the schooner SULTANA, (she’ll be there Saturday afternoon through Sunday morning, May 13), but also Frederick Douglass Day. The event features exhibits about his life and work, a genealogy workshop, dance and live music, regional foods, a cooking demonstration by Michael Twitty, and activities for children to learn about the diversity of cultural traditions established in our early heritage. Shipbuilding techniques used by Douglass will also be demonstrated at the boatshop.

Sunday, you can learn about beers of the past and present at Eastern Shore Brewing in St Michaels, tour the facilities with brewmaster Randy Marquis, and taste four different brews. This is a War of 1812 Bicentennial event; proceeds will go to the Historical Society, you’re encouraged to wear your 1812 costume
