This Friday, the Midshore Riverkeeper Conservancy hosts the Third Annual Wild and Scenic Environmental Film Festival at the Avalon Theatre – including a free afternoon program for children from 2 pm to 3:30. Evening program features
local food, free wine and beer, a silent auction, and an array of films from 3 minutes to 25 minutes in length, culminating in a local film: “Menhaden: The Most Important Fish in the Bay.” Support your local river advocacy program!

And we would be remiss in not mentioning the stellar lineup of Americana artists this weekend at the NightCat, beginning with a double bill on Friday of Holy Ghost Tent Revival(Dixieland- and ragtime inspired folk rock mixed with horn-fueled electric rock) and Yarn
(Grammy-nominated roots rockers and an Andy’s favorite). Saturday, the blues and bluegrass, old-time sing-alongs and foot-stompin’ fiddle tunes of Steel Wheels will entertain the almost assuredly packed house. NightCat promoter Mark Mangold says the shows are already more than half sold out- best to order tickets now.
