Big Win for Sabres Volleyball

September 10, 2022 by Saints Peter & Paul Schools

Share

In its inaugural season, the women’s volleyball at Saints Peter and Paul High School had their first home court win against Worcester Prep on Wednesday. The team came together to win three of four sets in this momentous occasion and is looking forward to competing against the challenging teams on the schedule.

Led by new Head Coach Rebekah Byrnes, the Sabres volleyball team was just formed in mid-August and going strong ever since. “This team has all the makings for a successful season, which is pretty incredible considering this is the first year SSPP has ever had a volleyball team,” says Coach Byrnes. The team is comprised of three seniors, five sophomores and four freshman.

Coach Byrnes is joined by assistant coaches Ryan Schneider and Patrick Hopkins. “These awesome coaches are committed to helping this team improve their skills and sharing their love for the game of volleyball,” adds Byrnes. In the coming weeks, the Sabres will be up against Indian Creek, Gunston and Salisbury Christian.

Saints Peter and Paul High School is a welcoming Catholic college preparatory school serving the Eastern Shore of Maryland since 1958. The quality of dedicated faculty and small class size makes for a learning environment that challenges students, encourages participation in a student life program with over 50 athletic teams and clubs, and promotes a faith-centered sense of service and leadership.
