Blues master Melvin Taylor performs Saturday, April 14 at the NightCat.

The NightCat in Easton hosts virtuoso electric blues guitarist Melvin Taylor  Saturday, April 14 at 8 pm.This self taught master was influenced by many of histories true guitar pioneers including – Albert King, Wes Montgomery, and Jimi Hendrix.

Born  in Jackson, Mississippi, he  moved  to Chicago at the age of  three. The move introduced Melvin to the melting pot of Blues, Jazz, Rock n’Roll and R & B. With his ability to merge blues with other genres of music, Melvin Taylor created his own unique sound.

Rolling Stone has described him as , “One of the most exhilarating blues guitarists to emerge in the past decade…[he] is more a blues innovator than a purist, mixing jazz chords and rock influences into his tapestry of electric blues. ”
