is the best social media post I’ve ever had the privilege to write:
Pastor Daniel Fuentes Espinal is home. Back with with beautiful family in Easton.
He was granted bond earlier this week and his daughter, Clarissa, flew to Louisiana yesterday, picked him up and brought him back to the great State of Maryland. Given the political and social climate in which we now live, we decided not to announce his release until he was safe and secure within the comfort of his own home.
Obviously, there remains work to be done. Let it be said, however, that Pastor Fuentes Espinal and his family are together again for the first time since that terrible morning of July 21. When a pastor and father of three said goodbye to his wife and children, left for work and never came home.
May God bless and hold this beautiful family close on this priceless night of reunion.

Wonderful news. I was shocked to hear this happen to such a wonderful human being and his family. This is not who we are, is it?

Thanks to God, to his family and to all who worked and contributed to bring him home. Such an unjust and stupid policy.

However I was told he most likely will lose the bond money put up for his release. Are you able to get any information on this? If this is true our government is turning into a completely corrupt criminal / Mobster state before our eyes. Citizens should unite and demand better.

I am SO VERY GLAD Pastor Daniel Fuentes Espinal is home. My mind is troubled by the administration picking up someone who has been here for years causing no problems, working, paying taxes and the fact that he’s been here illegally for years. Where is the line drawn? It appears Pastor Espinal has tried to secure legal status, but he overstayed his initial visa. Did he try to get an extension or did he assume no one would find him? Did he start the paperwork and our government overwhelmed him and he gave up? Did he start the paperwork when it appeared someone would be looking for him? Please don’t think me hard hearted – I think someone like Pastor Espinal is someone our country should welcome and should have a path to at least a green card if not citizenship. I do think the biggest part of the problem is our Congress doesn’t have the cohones to take on this problem and DEAL WITH IT!! Let those who are working and are part of our communities stay at some level, deport the criminals and deadbeats. How hard is that to legislate??? CONGRESS, GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER!!!!!
