Carpe Diem Arts, in partnership with Brookletts Place/Talbot County Senior Center, is proud to announce the return of the popular Arts Alive: Second Tuesdays free lunchtime concert series, running from January through May 2026. This community-based program brings world-class artists to the heart of Easton for 45-minute midday concerts that are free and welcoming to all ages.
Winter/Spring 2026 Lineup–Kicking off on Tuesday, January 13, 12:15-1:00pm
January 13, 2026: Jay Sumerour & Mark Puryear – Experience the Piedmont blues with harmonica player Jay Summerour and guitarist Mark Puyear, two tradition bearers whose soulful, understated styles brings American roots music to life. A warm, intimate performance honoring the deep history of the Mid-Atlantic blues.
February 10: Hubby Jenkins – Hubby Jenkins, Grammy-nominated multi-instrumentalist and former member of the Carolina Chocolate Drops, shares the deep roots of African American string band music through spirited banjo, guitar, and bones performances.
March 10: Rakish – Phenomenal fiddler Maura Shawn Scanlin and guitarist Conor Hearn of RAKISH bring a shimmering blend of Celtic tradition, American folk, and contemporary acoustic artistry to Brookletts Place. Refreshingly innovative with elegant chamber-folk sensibility, Maura and Conor present music that is both timeless and boldly original.
April 14: Mark Schatz & Rachel Eddy – Mark Schatz – celebrated bassist known for his work with Béla Fleck – and multi-instrumentalist Rachel Eddy unite for vibrant, heartfelt old-time music. Their blend of fiddle, banjo, bass, and rich harmonies brings Appalachian tradition to life with joyful virtuosity. Back by popular demand!
May 12: Dead Sea Squirrels – The Dead Sea Squirrels perform a vibrant mix of string band traditions: old-time, fiddling, blues, Cajun rhythms, Celtic-tinged guitar, with hauntingly beautiful vocal harmonies – delivered with spirited musicianship and charm. Featuring Cathy Mason, Craig Edwards, and Henry Yoshimura.
