Carpe Diem Arts Presents Howard Bass & Barbara Hollinshead in “Birds, Bees, Flowers & Trees: An Elizabethan Celebration of Mother Earth.” The event will take place at Talbot County Senior Center on May 9, 2017, 12:15 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
A delightful program of music for lute and voice from the 16th and 17th centuries in celebration of Mother’s Day and Mother Earth. Recent performance highlights for Howard Bass and Barbara Hollinshead include the Italian Embassy, the National Gallery of Art, and the Washington Early Music Festival. The duo is also renowned for their many highly acclaimed recordings, and are active members of other ensembles: Artek (Barbara) and Trio Sefardi (Howard).
This program is made possible by the generous support of the Talbot County Arts Council with revenues provided by the Maryland State Arts Council, and by the Mid-Shore Community Foundation (MSCF), Dock Street Foundation, Brookletts Place, the Artistic Insights Fund, and by individual contributions to the Carpe Diem Arts Outreach Fund/MSCF.
