Denis Gasper will speak on Cooking with Herbs at the March 12th Chesapeake Bay Herb Society meeting to be held at 6:00pm at the parish hall of Christ Church in Easton.
Denis started cooking with his grandmother, Mary Gasper, who was a fabulous cook and she introduced him to cooking with herbs. He started working when he was sixteen at Steak and Ale in Timonium, Maryland, and spent the next three summers working in Ocean City in different restaurants. Then he worked at the Belvedere and Peabody Court Hotels. He spent most of his time in ‘front of the house’, but his heart is in the “back” – the kitchen. Cooking for friends and family is his passion now.
Denis is one of the founding members of the Chesapeake Bay Herb Society, which started in 2002. He will share some of his herbal recipes, as cooking with herbs greatly enhances the flavor of food.
The evening will begin with a pot luck supper featuring St. Patrick’s Day Family Favorites, featuring leeks, caraway, parsley and thyme, followed by a short business meeting. The informative program will conclude the evening.
