Chesapeake Forum Presents Local Author Series

October 27, 2022 by Spy Desk

Mystery writer Susan Reiss, kicks off Chesapeake Forum’s first Local Author series.

Join Chesapeake Forum on November 1st for its first Local Author Series featuring St. Michaels resident Susan Reiss, creator of the locally-based Silver mystery series and In Time mystery/historical fiction. It’s completely free although reservations are required.

Susan will share how she creates a story, the challenges of its development, and the joy of seeing it published… of starting in the mystery genre and weaving it with historical fiction with a dash of romance and ghostly souls… of starting in obscurity and earning bestseller flags on Amazon and an international audience.

“First, I came to St. Michaels by car, then by boat,” said Susan. “Finally, I had the little house in town where I could leave a toothbrush. It was my escape from the crazy world of television, the place where I wanted to write, not scripts. Books.

“Now, more than ten books later, I’ve learned that writing what you know isn’t enough. The key is to write what you love!”

Chesapeake Forum’s Local Author Series is one (1) session, Tuesday, November 1st from 2-3:30 PM, in-person at the Peachblossom YMCA, ZOOM or recording. FREE.  Registration is required.  To sign up for the Local Author Series or any other Chesapeake Forum course, please visit https://chesapeakeforum.org
