The Chesapeake Forum hopes you are well and faring as best you can during the COVID-19 stay-at-home directive. As a result of this directive, the Forum classes were canceled in March, April, and May. We’d like to take a moment to thank you for your patience and understanding during this difficult time. No one was more disappointed than my fellow board members and the Chesapeake Forum faculty when the decision was made. We especially miss the energy and camaraderie that occurs in our classrooms.
We writing today with good news. Chesapeake Forum is planning and preparing for our 2020 fall semester. Thanks to our incredible faculty, we’ll have a rich assortment of classes beginning mid-September. We are also considering options, such as distance learning and the video recording of lecture-type presentations. Optimally, we’d like to present our courses in actual, not virtual, classrooms. And we hope to do so, but it’s best to be prepared.
Since inception in the fall of 2019, Chesapeake Forum has presented 40 multi-session and single-session courses in locations throughout Talbot County. And in the 2020 Winter/Spring semester alone, 579 avid lifelong learners registered for our classes. We thank you for your enthusiastic response and support!
Chesapeake Forum’s faculty are the key to our success. Our instructors provide a curriculum that is diverse in subject matter and appealing to you, our audience. Their passion and commitment is inspiring, and results in a strong sense of community. That sense of community is what makes Chesapeake Forum special. It brings us back time and again for engagement and education.
Qe welcome comments, concerns, or suggestions. You may contact me through email at [email protected] and we will get back to you as soon as I can.
