This new cookbook from Christmas in St. Michaels will make a superb gift, full of delicious recipes for local treats and St. Michaels memories.

In celebration of its 30th year, Christmas in St. Michaels has published a new cookbook full of traditional holiday flavors and unique Eastern Shore specialties.

Titled A Few of Our Favorite Things, the book includes more than 350 recipes submitted by more than 50 local restaurants, B&Bs, churches, businesses, civic organizations and a long list of home cooks. It also includes recipes for the many jams, jellies, pickles, relishes, dessert sauces, nuts and candies that are offered for sale each December at the Christmas in St. Michaels Marketplace boutique.

The book contains interesting anecdotes about the history of the town of St. Michaels, Christmas in St. Michaels and local historic buildings. Many color photographs throughout the book bring back memories of past Christmas in St. Michaels celebrations. The cookbook contains information about each of the professional contributors and underscores the depth of fabulous food experience available in the community.

The book is available now at the St. Michaels Farmers Market (through October), at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum’s Small Craft Festival and Oysterfest, and online at christmasinstmichaels.org (orders will be mailed for a small fee). It will also be for sale December 9-11 during Christmas in St. Michaels at Marketplace on St. Mary’s Square. The price of the book is $25.00.

The cookbook makes a perfect Christmas gift, hostess gift or very special souvenir and is presented with a festive green satin ribbon and gold Christmas tree seal, ready to give.
