Talbot Family Network is hosting a three-day Undoing Racism® workshop on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 – Friday June 18, 2021 from 9am – 3pm daily. Community members are invited to register for this free virtual seminar about the foundations of race and racism and how they function as barriers to community self-determination and self-sufficiency.
Undoing Racism® is the signature workshop offered by the People’s Institute for Survival and Beyond. Participants will engage in an intensive, interactive process that challenges them to consider themselves first, then the structures of power and privilege that hinder social equity. Continuing Education Units or CEUs are available for social work professionals who register no later than Wednesday, June 9, 2021.
The People’s Institute for Survival and Beyond is a national and international collective of community organizers and educators dedicated to building an effective movement for social transformation. The People’s Institute believes that racism is the primary barrier preventing communities from building effective coalitions and overcoming institutionalized inequities. Over the last 40+ years, they have provided training, consultation, and leadership development to more than 200,000,000 people nationally and internationally.
Advanced registration is required and seating is limited. Participants must commit to the full three-day workshop. For sign up, go to https://tinyurl.com/UndoingRacismTFN. Community members may also contact [email protected] to register and for additional information.
