The Talbot County Office of Economic Development is pleased to announce that Mark D. Greene, Sr. was recently hired as a contractual Business Retention Specialist to support the Talbot County Office of Economic Development‘s Business Retention Call Program activities. The ability to bring on additional staff in the area of business retention is critical in supporting the existing business community, says Paige Bethke, Director of the Office of Economic Development, and is a priority of the Talbot County Council.
Mr. Greene comes to Talbot County following an extensive career in the financial services and real estate development sectors. Most recently, he served as a Business Consultant with the Maryland Small Business and Technology Development Center and the Maryland Technology Development Corporation where he identified and assisted start-up businesses with strategic planning, marketing research, staffing, operations and financial resources to leverage business growth throughout the Mid-Shore area.
Prior to Mr. Greene’s arrival, Paige Bethke had been managing the Business Retention Call Program since becoming Director in 2004.
Mr. Greene’s primary focus will be to meet with existing businesses to tour their facilities, review various aspects of their current operation, and learn about requirements the companies have identified as necessary to support their growth. Utilizing an established network of business partners and programs as a referral system, Mr. Greene will be able to provide the businesses with opportunities to leverage their resources to attain their goals.
Mark Greene may be reached at 410-770-6811 or [email protected].
