When the Neighborhood Service Center had to cancel their big 50th anniversary celebration at The Milestone due to the coronavirus crisis, its governing board was resigned to the fact that they would lose their event deposit. But Pam Zepp at The Milestone had a better idea; why not use the money to provide 350 Easter feeding baskets for families that need them this weekend. Better yet, why not bring in the Talbot County Free Library to offer free children’s books at the same time?
Forty-eight hours later, this idea became a fact. On Saturday afternoon, hundreds of cars found their way to the Easton High School parking lot when 500 baskets and books found their way into the back of cars and SUVs.
The Spy was there to capture a special moment of a community that cares.
