The old saying goes that a city’s annual budget reveals more about its priorities than anything else, but it might also be said of its selection of a town manager by a town council. Tasked with finding a new executive to assist the council with its most important priorities for many years to come is perhaps one of the most critical decisions one can make.
Mayor Megan Cook, with the approval of the five council members, agreed that Andy Kitzrow possessed the skill set they were looking for. He begins his new job in July.
All of this sparked the interest of the Spy, and we were grateful to have the opportunity to chat with Andy before his move to the Easton position.
In our first of many chats to come, Andy shares his experience with Salisbury, which has risen to one of the highest growth rates per capita in the country. That includes some innovative work to improve walkability, as well as the challenges that come with providing affordable housing. And he also shares why Easton was the logical choice for his career.
This video is approximately 12 minutes in length.
