To help downtown Easton restaurants, shops, and other businesses that have been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic, Easton Economic Development Corporation is introducing the “Downtown Easton Card.”
The program is a community-based digital gift card that makes it easy to keep local spending local. Customers can purchase a Downtown Easton Card at www.eastonedc.com to use at any downtown businesses participating in the initiative. A number of downtown merchants are in the registration process to participate in the initial launch, with many more businesses on the way.
“Card recipients can choose to spend the digital card at one of our many, and growing list of, participating merchants in downtown Easton,” said Downtown Development Director Jeff Lankford. “You can mix it up and spend flexibly at multiple locations to spread the love and discover new places.”
With the Downtown Easton Card, you can write a personalized message and send it to family, friends, and colleagues via email or text message. The purchaser can also print a physical copy of the Downtown Easton Card for in-person gifting.
“Participating in this program means supporting the heart of what makes our community unique,” Easton Economic Development Corporation Executive Director Tracy Ward said. “The purchase of a Downtown Easton Card creates a pool of cash that local businesses in downtown Easton can rely on and invites people to explore local commerce connections.”
The gift card program is launching alongside Easton Economic Development Corporation’s Shop Sundays Holiday Raffle event. Shop or dine at participating downtown retailers and restaurants on Sunday, December 6, 13, and 20 to earn raffle tickets. Every $10 you spend enters you into weekly drawings for Downtown Easton Cards.
“By supporting local businesses, more money continues circulating through the local community,” Lankford said. “If you’re looking for a way to do some good or want to know how you can help the community you love, send a Downtown Easton Card, shop small, and dine locally.”
