Easton Family YMCA At Peachblossom Undergoes Renovation

August 1, 2024 by YMCA of the Chesapeake

Easton, Md.– Last month, the Easton Family YMCA at Peachblossom began an exciting and much-needed renovation of its Wellness Center, which houses the facility’s cardio and strength training equipment. The Ellen Rajacich Warm Pool, Cool Pool, and exterior of the building will also undergo improvements during this same project.

The upgraded wellness center will be named the “Calabro Family Wellness Center” in recognition of the signature gift from Dr. Tony and Cindy Calabro who are long-time members and supporters of the Y. Additional support has been received from other donors who are committed to the legacy and long-term success of the Easton Family YMCA.

“The Easton Family YMCA at Peachblossom has served as the front porch of our community for nearly 60 years,” said Robbie Gill, YMCA of the Chesapeake CEO. “Serving one third of adults and one in two children in Talbot County, the Easton Family Y is a hub for more than 30 partnerships and collaborations. Taking care of this historic facility is of the highest priority, and we’re excited to embark on a renovation project that will enhance the work of our Y, our partners and elevate the member experience for decades to come.”

Built in 1967, the Easton Family YMCA serves as a community hub for programs, services and collaborations. Updates to the YMCA will include an expanded wellness center, new “for everyone“ individual shower/bathrooms, expanded office space and a new cycle studio/multiple purpose room. In addition to these renovations, the cool pool will also receive new lighting and undergo ceiling repairs, the special needs bathroom will get new tile and drainage systems, a new dehumidifier and new windows will be installed in the warm pool, the sauce will be replaced, and there will be some exterior work done to the building.  To support this and future exciting upgrades to the Easton Family YMCA, please contact Robbie Gill at [email protected].
