In the coming weeks, each Town of Easton Ward representative will host a Town Hall Discussion open to the public. The discussions will serve to inform and educate the public on current and upcoming Town projects, and to have an open forum for public feedback.
These sessions will be held at the Easton Firehouse, located at 315 Leonard Rieck Drive in Easton, and will take place from 7pm-8pm on the following dates:
WARD 2 – Hosted by Ward 2 Council Member Robert Rankin – Monday, September 29
WARD 3 – Hosted by Ward 3 Council Member David Montgomery – Thursday, October 9
WARD 4 – Hosted by Ward 4 Council Member Rev. Elmer Neal Davis, Jr. – Thursday, October 23
WARD 1 – Hosted by Ward 1 Council Member Maureen Curry – Monday, October 27
“This is a great opportunity for people to come out and have their voices heard, and to hear what’s going on around Town directly from their representatives,” said Council President Don Abbatiello. “We understand that attending town council meetings doesn’t fit into everyone’s schedule, so we wanted to give more opportunities to the people of Easton to speak on what is most important to them. We think we’ll receive a lot of good feedback here.”
Each session is free to attend and open to the public. Seating will be available on a first come first served basis. While an RSVP is not required, each Town Hall Discussion can be viewed and RSVP’d to on the Town’s Facebook page under events. If residents are unsure about which ward they belong to, they can use Easton’s Interactive Ward Map to determine their designation.
Formally recognized in 1710 by the Province of Maryland, Easton is the county seat of Talbot County. Encompassing over 11 square miles including almost two dozen public parks and open spaces, the town has a growing population of over 17,000 residents.
