Jim Jaramillo, a 15-year Talbot County resident, and devoted Republican, is currently seeking a permanent seat on the Republican Central Committee of Talbot County.
As a sitting central committee member, appointed by Chairman Nick Panuizo in October of 2017, Jaramillo has officially announced his candidacy for the primary election June 2018.
Filing in February of 2018, the staunch young Republican hopes to revive strong conservative values. In addition, Jaramillo intends to offer consistent support of Republican candidates backing the local small business community, and propose plans to pave the way for fewer regulations and/or taxes in the state of Maryland.
Current Talbot County Council President, Jennifer Williams, makes mention of Jaramillo’s attributes and potential. ” Jim is a rising star among Republican politics in the state of Maryland.” Also adding that Jaramillo “has a track record of working hard for Republican Party candidates in Talbot County.”
If elected for a four-year term, Jaramillo’s top priority would be to assist in the reelection of Governor Hogan in November, as well as preventing the “Blue wave” from making its way into Talbot County.
Jaramillo also hopes to bring both Independent and young voters over to the party in order to ensure the continued growth of the Republican voter base in Talbot County.
The Primary election is June 26th, 2018, with early voting beginning June 14th – 21st2018. “As a long-term Talbot County resident, having been raised in the historic town of Oxford, I relate to our community as being more than voters, but also dear friends. If elected, it would be an honor to continue to serve Talbot County members of the Republican party and engage in healthy discussion with local government as they create legislation that pertains to the community,” Jaramillo states.
