Plein Air festivities begin on Saturday, July 11th at 10:00 AM with a free Kids Art Workshop at the St. Michaels Community Center. Tuesday, July 14th, Plein Air Kids Paint Out, a full day of fun and art starts at 11:30 AM in Muskrat Park. Sensory art, face painting, fish mobile, storytelling, puppet shows, live music and lunch are among the happenings at Muskrat Park. That evening at 5:00 PM meet and mingle with the Plein Air painters at the Starving Artists Dinner hosted by Town Dock Food & Spirits at 125 Mulberry Street in St. Michaels. This event costs $30 per person, drinks NOT included, and reservations are recommended. These events are sponsored by St. Michaels Events, St. Michaels Community Center, St. Michaels YMCA, Aida’s Victoriana Inn, Candleberry General Store, St. Luke’s Church School, and Phillips Wharf Environmental Center.
St. Michaels Events is a 501c3 non-profit that has partnered with the St. Michaels Winery, St. Michaels Community Center and Phillips Wharf Environmental Center, and is partially supported by the Talbot County Arts Council with funds provided by the Talbot County Council and the Towns of Easton, Oxford, and St. Michaels to offer the following activities to spur your inspiration and imagination.

August 7th 6 PM to 8 PM Painted Oyster Shells, a Mommy & Me program at PWEC
August 8th 10 AM to Noon Children’s Art Class at Local Port of Art

Throughout the months of July and August, the Local Port of Art, along with their unique display of local art, proudly exhibits the works of Joyce Zeigler. At the opening of this exhibit, which encompasses nearly a lifetime of artwork, Jeannie Haddaway-Riccio, Director of the Office of Intergovernmental Affairs for the State of Maryland presented Joyce with citations from the House of Delegates and the Senate, as well as a resolution from the Governor’s office honoring the more than 50 years of service both as an artist, and lifelong activist for the arts and humanities in the state.
