As we celebrate our nation’s independence and enjoy the long days of summer, Candleberry Gallery is sharing colorful exhibits and fun classes and events for all ages. The dynamic Wednesday Morning Artists group will exhibit their creative wares in a variety of media during the month of July. Stop by the Gallery to see their amazing work, and meet these diverse artists at a reception on Friday, July 8, from 5 to 7 pm.
July’s Featured Artist is John Iampieri, a talented screen painter who will teach a fun and educational class. Painted Screens are a unique Maryland tradition originating in Baltimore row houses, where door and window screens were painted with idyllic scenes. These screens prevented those outside the home from seeing in, yet allowed the home’s occupants to see out and benefit from cool breezes. You can meet John and see his work at a reception on Thursday, July 7 from 6 to 7 pm. Better yet — come learn the art of screen painting on July 7 from 2 to 4 pm. Join John for a hands on workshop in which all participants will create and take home their own painted screen. Registration required by contacting The Candleberry Gallery at 410-745-2420 or [email protected]. $45 fee includes expert instruction and all materials.
