Letter: Talbot Paramedic Foundation is Working to Replace Defibrillators

May 12, 2020 by Letter to Editor

Share

The Talbot Paramedic Foundation (TPMF) has placed over 200 community access semi-automatic defibrillators (AEDs) within businesses, non-profits, and government buildings throughout Talbot County.  This award-winning program has resulted in several lives being saved.

Approximately 100 of the AEDs are at the end of their useful life and need replacing.  Each defibrillator costs approximately $1000.  Replacement costs are shared between the TPMF, Talbot County government, and the local business or non-profit enabling the recipient organizations purchase price to be approximately $350.

The TPMF Board of Directors is grateful to have such a giving community that has enabled the TPMF to operate such programs as this community access AED program.  In addition, we have financially contributed to multiple other projects and scholarships in support of excellent Emergency Medical Services provided by the Talbot County Department of Emergency Services and the volunteer fire companies.

We are currently asking for the community support through a direct mail campaign.  Please consider sending a donation to the Talbot Paramedic Foundation PO Box 2237 Easton, MD 21601, or look for our solicitation in the mail.  You can also contribute by going to our website http://www.site.talbotparamedic.org/donate-now/.

The TPMF Board of Directors thanks the Talbot County community for supporting our organization through the years.  We have labored hard in support of maintaining excellent life-saving equipment and providing additional training opportunities for our EMS providers and could not have done any of this work without the steadfast support of so many in our wonderful county!
