Looking to the future, I will vote for Don Abbatiello for Easton town council president. His commitment to Easton over the years has been significant. He has been a positive influence on Easton, serving on the town council for four years, serving as a volunteer fireman in various positions for 14 years, and serving on the affordable housing board as well. It is notable that when he was elected to be the interim town council president, the vote by his fellow council members was unanimous. To me, that means his fellow council members trusted him to take the lead in a thoughtful, intelligent,
Of course, there are many issues facing Easton, but perhaps the biggest is the growth we have experienced lately and the traffic that ensues. This is not an easy problem to solve. However, what must be addressed is how much growth will be allowed by the upcoming comprehensive plan. The incoming council, with Don at the head, will take a hard look at this and rein in growth wherever possible. New legislation will probably be required, and Don would be the one likely to introduce it.
Please consider voting for Don Abbatiello on Tuesday, May 6th.

I will proudly cast my vote for Don Abbatiello on May 6th! Don brings the one element that citizens depend on in town council, the willingness to Listen and Learn. His lifelong path of public service successes as teacher, fireman, and councilman showcase how well he’s prepared to effectively meet the moment. Don hears the testimony of local people and subject matter experts before making decisions on how to cast his vote. He has earned the confidence and respect of his politically mixed group of current colleagues in local government, as well as the former mayor Wiley and councilman Silverstein. These are the people that worked with him directly. He is not beholden to big donors. I’m confident that the course he will pursue on any issue will always be in the interest of the town’s people, and nothing more. In these challenging times, a proven public servant who takes no money from a political party, is best suited to bring about consensus and serve the residents of Easton. Please join me and come out to elect Don Abbatiello for council president this Tuesday, May 6th.
