In the May 6th election for town council president, I will cast my vote for Don Abbatiello. I have been impressed with his service to the town as Ward 2 councilman for more than four years. He has also served as a longtime Easton volunteer firefighter in a variety of elected positions. His service on the affordable housing board is also an important contribution to the Town. He is the liaison to the Talbot County Free Library.
Don sees affordable housing as a complicated matter. He understands that we want to provide affordable housing for those who need it, but we also do not want to expand residential growth to the point that Easton is overwhelmed. He is sensitive to the concern of many citizens who have expressed dismay at the amount of current housing construction and even more that are in the pipeline.
I see Don as an intelligent, respectful leader who will benefit the residents of Easton, and to those who live in the county to enjoy having a vibrant town to visit.
I urge all residents of Easton to vote for Don Abbatiello on May 6 at the Easton Fire House.
