I know Frank to be an honest, down-to-earth guy whose guiding principle is to keep Easton’s small town, family-oriented Eastern Shore character alive and well. We are seeing the results of a large increase in Western Shore people and ideas in recent years. They have fled the big cities’ violence and taxes to our haven, but seem to want to instill big city values here in their new home. I believe that Frank is open and honest about his values and that his membership and leadership on the Council has followed those convictions. He’s the kind of person I want to represent Easton. I wish there were more like him.
If you want a Town Council that fosters responsible growth, business-friendly policies, and housing solutions that help our working class find suitable homes, and works hard to maintain our small town character, please consider voting for Frank Gunsallus for Town Council President.

Thank you Kent for reminding people that a theme of this election is civility and inclusion in the Easton community. Hopefully everyone who moved here from the Western Shore in the past 50 years will see this divisive comment and vote accordingly.

Kent, I don’t know you well, but the few times we have interacted, I have the impression that you are a kind and thoughtful person. My being a person from the “other side”, I’m surprised that you would lump all come here’s together. I would imagine that there are others like me who didn’t move to the Eastern Shore because we wanted to “escape violence and taxes”. I don’t know what you mean by “big city values” as compared to the “family oriented” people of the Eastern Shore who have lived here for a long time. I’m also curious about the “small town character” to which you refer. I imagine there are many opinions about what all those things mean. It comes across to me that you are relying on inaccurate stereotypes to stir up the longtimers by labeling in a derogatory way, many good people who have not lived here a long time. It’s another way of encouraging one group to dislike another, and there is too much of that going on all over.
