It was sickening to learn of the murder of a mother of 3 in Minneapolis for absolutely no reason. The lies promulgated by Fox News, Breitbart and similarly “misguided” “News” organizations have poisoned the American public with never-ending lies and, coupled with the Trump Administration’s similarly structured (daily) falsehoods, have led segments of the American public to believe that we have a full-scale war with “the enemy within.” But then, we are further informed that a male nurse who was nonviolently defending another protester was mercilessly gunned down. Another American citizen exercising his constitutionally protected right to protest was gunned down by a crew of Vigilantes.
We are a country that formerly welcomed immigrants, and when people protested nonviolently, we respected and protected their constitutionally protected right to do so. Not that the road has always been smooth. Racism and hate led to the murder of Medgar Evers in Mississippi in 1963 and the killing of Martin Luther King and countless other murders and lynchings, mostly of people of color. Evers was shot in the back by a racist hater. who was later convicted of the murder. Fast forward to 2026: Alex Pretti, a VA nurse who posed no threat to ICE was shot in the back.
When is this madness going to end? Will his killers be brought to justice? We must stand up against the blatant Hate, Racism, Misogyny, Xenophobia, Homophobia and general disregard for the constitutional rights of us all promulgated by the President and his armed thugs, ICE.

The root of the current insanity lies with John Roberts Supreme Court when he saw fit to swear in (with a smile) a murdering treasonous insurectionist, megalomaniac, narcissist, pathological liar, rapist – trump. That resulted in many more murders, bombings, an invasion, masked thugs (like the KKK) murdering and beating innocent people.
Trump & John Roberts will answer for their complicity and the John Roberts Supreme Court will be noted in history as the weakest & worst.

I don’t believe it will end until January 2027 without extraordinary action by a large number of non-MAGA citizens. Trump’s cabinet and other political appointees are liars and sycophants, and they will ensure justice is not done. The investigations run by the FBI and DHS will be cover ups. Another year of assaults and murders can take place. The right wing media universe from Fox News to CBS to Mr. Pillow will keep the lies coming 24/7. A hand full of Republicans may object, but Trump will chase them back into chicken house. Even if Trump dies in office this year, JD Vance is worse. Impeachments and trials in state courts could end this madness, but it will require commitment and coordination.

In 2020, seventeen year old Kyle Rittenhouse’s mommy drove him to Kenosha, Wisconsin with his fully loaded AR15 assault-style rifle. He walked the streets confronting those assembled at a Black Lives Matter protest. He shot three, killing two, was acquitted and became a darling of the right, with speaking engagements around the country. This week Rittenhouse has posted comments about how he will “carry (his weapon) everywhere” and that his “rights will not be infringed”. Fast forward to this past week and we clearly see a man with one hand up and the other carrying a cell phone/camera. This man was pepper sprayed, wrestled to the group, beaten and then shot multiple times. The POTUS and much of the MAGA cabinet were quick to claim that because he (may have) had a gun in his waistband that he was there to attack officers and to shoot people. First, I don’t believe a word coming out of Trump or his minions and will rely on the videos; for which I am very thankful, and actual investigations. Without videos and citizen observers the ICE troops would feel no pressure to follow the law or do the things right (not that they feel much of that anyway). The bottom line is that an authoritarian takeover is underway, the rule of law is in peril, lies are spewing in direct contradiction to video evidence. If this was happening in another country the US government would typically be outraged and threatening sanctions and intervention. Hell, Trump was ready to send troops to Iran to protect protestors there, but has branded every protestor here as a well-trained, organized band of paid left wing radical lunatic socialists roaming the streets looking to kill police officers. When will Congress do its job and exercise the checks and balances of the Constitution? When will Republican lawmakers break their silence and defend the American people against our new dictator wannabe? It is truly deplorable what is happening. The MAGA government is not governing. We hear nothing of efforts to make life better or to work with Democrats and Independents to find solutions for problems, instead it is a daily grind of lies, lies and more lies. Attack Venezuela and kidnap its president for drug trafficking while pardoning the jailed Honduran president, say you support the Blue and police officers while pardoning 1,600 convicted insurrectionists who beat officers with American flags and searched for the VP, claim to follow the “Prince of Peace” while doing the opposite of everything he preached, claim to be the law and order party and ignore every court order, run on releasing the Epstein files and then refuse to do so. That’s this MAGA POTUS and his enablers. Enough already! Let’s work together on solutions and save this country before Trump takes us down the drain.

I agree Jim, but I believe the lies about these killings and other abuses of people are promulgated by President Trump and his minions and then propounded by right wing media like Fox and all too many social media outlets. As Trump and all too many other politicians attempt to turn America into an authoritarian state which they control, more and more Americans and immigrants will suffer what should never be imposed on people living in this Republic.

Where is Merrick Garland? I mean, where is he? Where was he when 147 Congress People tried to stop the Peaceful Transfer of Power, which is a cornerstone of our Democracy. Who gave the order that Merrick, or any Attorney General at any time, should stand down to allow a child rapist, a thief, a conman, lead hooligans to our Nation’s Capital and try to hang the Vice President.
We must never forget the role our own Representative to the House, Dr. Andy Harris, has played in this immoral choice of Party over Country. This madness could and should have ended long ago but for the wrong-headed thinking grasped by a handful of billionaires to end our Democracy. To end The Rule of Law.

She also stated that four days after the killing law-enforcement has not contacted her???
