Easton-based folk and traditional string band, Ampersand, starts their gig season at the Blue Crab Coffeehouse in St. Michaels, Maryland, Saturday, June 12 from 12-2pm. The next day, Ampersand will present a program as part of Preston’s Concert in the Park series, at the James T. Wright Memorial Park, 105 Backlanding Road, Preston, Sunday, June 13 from 4 to 6pm.
Ampersand brings guitars, banjo, mandolin, bouzouki, hammered dulcimer, mountain dulcimer, and four-part harmony to a wide range of songs and tunes from colonial America to the blues of the 1920s and 30s, on up to modern folk music. This group shares a love of history through their music, and are happy when audience members singalong or come up afterwards to try out one of the instruments. Both concerts are a great opportunity to hear some live music outdoors, sample great food (Blue Crab kitchen and food trucks at Preston), and kick off summertime!
