The Local Color Art Show and Competition, sponsored by The Working Artists Forum, will be held Friday, July 15th – Sunday, July 17th, in the Crystal Ballroom of the Tidewater Inn in Easton. Local Color is held in conjunction with The Plein Air Easton Art Festival and will feature paintings by artists representing the Delmarva Peninsula. For a list of artists who juried into Local Color this year, please see the attachment below. The 2016 judge for Local Color is Jason Sacran, winner of Plein Air Easton’s 2015 Grand Prize. The juror is Tim Bell, the second place winner of Plein Air Easton in 2014 and 2015. These two artists will offer the first two of five free painting demonstrations sponsored by The Working Artists Forum (WAF). A complete list of the demonstration schedule for the weekend may be found below. During the show, a number of Local Color artists, painting in plein air, will be out in the streets around the Tidewater Inn.As a special event this year, WAF will be hosting a raffle for a Caribbean Cruise,March 11-18, 2017, compliments of Kathleen Hopkins-CruiseOne. Proceeds from Local Color and the raffle fundraiser help to fund The Working Artists Forum’s educational program for art classes in local schools. WAF is an non-profit organization consisting of painters working in a variety of media. Professional expertise of its membership is fostered through programs, group critiques, demonstrations, and member exhibitions. Pro bono work for the community is encouraged.
