Mariah’s Mission Fund of the Mid-Shore Community Foundation was established by Valerie Albee of Easton, who lost her daughter Mariah to a heroin overdose. Ann Youngblood of Pasadena joined Valerie’s efforts soon after losing her son Lance to an overdose. The Fund seeks to provide resources for families who have lost loved ones to substance abuse and to raise awareness and education about substance abuse in our communities.
To date the Fund is supporting a bereavement group at Talbot Hospice for families who have lost someone to substance abuse, as well as a support group for families who have a family member fighting substance abuse. The event is seeking sponsors and donations are welcome. All proceeds from the event benefit Mariah’s Mission Fund.
