Max Passes Away: Retired St. Michaels K-9 Officer Dead at 9 1/2 Years

On Friday, April 21, 2023, Max, a 9 ½-year-old White Labrador Retriever Retired K-9 officer was lost to complications resulting from bone cancer. Max joined his handler, former Corporal Jason Adams, at the St. Michaels Police Department in April 2014. He was used for narcotics detection while serving the Town of St. Michaels for 8 years. During his service with the St. Michaels Police Department, Max assisted his handler in the seizure of illegal narcotics leading to countless arrests.
Max was a beloved dog in the community and served numerous programs: Jr. Police Academy; Adult Citizens Police Academy; Character Counts as well as National Night Out, to name a few. The officers of the St. Michaels Police Department mourn his loss and send our sincere condolences.
Max’s handler Officer Jason Adams stated, “Max was not only a loyal partner and Officer, but he was also able to deter many types of criminals while remaining a trusted and loved member of my family. He will be sorely missed and never forgotten.”

    As a former Salisbury P. D. Officer. I was saddened to hear of the passing of Max..may he rest in peace in Rainbow Bridge’s K-9 heaven.
