The Neighborhood Service Center is excited to announce the 2024 Talbot Community Resource Expo to be held Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 10am – 1pm at Easton Elementary School, 307 Glenwood Avenue, Easton. This resource-filled day will help community members learn more about many local agencies and services available to assist them with various needs. Last year’s event drew over 300 guests, including single adults, families, and seniors.
With support from Choptank Electric Cooperative, Easton Utilities, the Talbot County Hunger Coalition, and other partners, the Talbot Community Resource Expo will provide onsite services to include energy assistance, health screenings, veteran services, educational resources for adults and children, food and many other opportunities. Everyone is welcome to attend the Expo. A free lunch will be available to all.
Children’s activities will also be available including a new Rolling Rodeo. Hosted by Thrive Talbot, this safety event is aimed at kids ages 3-14. Participants are encouraged to bring their own bike, scooter, skateboard or skates. The rodeo will include helmet giveaways and fittings and free bike repairs.
Local organizations are invited to participate in the Resource Expo as vendors and share more about their services. Advance registration for service providers is required and can be completed online at https://tinyurl.com/RegisterResourceExpo24.
Volunteers, including Spanish-speaking helpers, are needed for the day of the event. Community members assist as greeters, welcoming guests at the front door, and navigators, assisting guests in finding the services at the Expo that best fit their needs and interests. Contact Catherine Poe at [email protected] to learn about the volunteer opportunities. A short pre-service training is provided.
