Residents of Back Creek Landing in St. Michaels took part in the community efforts to help provide food for those in need. Families in Back Creek spent the first two weeks of November collecting food and on Monday the 16th they delivered the boxes to the St. Michaels Community Center. The center is the food hub for the Bay Hundred area during the COVID pandemic.
The website for the Community Center shows that between April 6, 2020 and Nov 11, 2020 they provided 10,668 bags of groceries and 11,604 delivery and take-out meals to families in the Bay Hundred Area. Families who took part in the food drive were glad to be part of the ongoing efforts to support families in our community.
Roger Galvin, president of the HOA made sure to thank Trish Payne, Executive Director of the center for all the hard work she and her staff have done. Trish is retiring and the whole St. Michaels Community will surely miss seeing her smiling face at the center. It is not too late for other communities to lend a hand, there are many ways to help.
