The Talbot County Free Library is pleased to announce the reopening of the St. Michaels Branch located at 106 Fremont St., St. Michaels, MD 21663, on March 21st, 2026, following a comprehensive renovation and expansion that began in fall 2024.
The updated branch features refreshed spaces designed to better serve the needs of the community, improve accessibility, and support a wide range of learning and gathering needs. The project reflects an ongoing commitment by TCFL to invest in welcoming, modern spaces for all residents and visitors.
“At the beginning of this project we held group visioning sessions. I remember people saying they wanted things like a quiet study room” said Shauna Beulah, St. Michaels Branch Manager. “We’re happy to be able to give our community what they asked for.”
To mark the reopening, the library will host a ribbon cutting ceremony and community celebration with fun family activities on March 21st. Additional details about the event will be shared in the coming weeks.
“We’d like to thank the County, State of Maryland, and our community for the tremendous advocacy and support they have given us since this project was identified as a need back in 2013,” said TCFL Library Director, Dana Newman. “Their support has allowed us to expand the St. Michaels Library so it can better serve both current and future patrons.”
