John Fischer says
To me, the contemporary facade appears out of sync with the charm of historic St. Michaels. I hope the Town Planning Commission will feel the same.
Margaret Enloe says
The old Acme was by no means a historic building or anything ‘beautiful”. This is a lovely design, in sych with the times. However, not in synch w/ the Town. Looks like ‘everywhere else’ upscale USA – Annapolis, Georgetown, inner Harbor. And not a place welcoming to long-time locals or ppl who live in town year round and need a store nearby…. Encourages further gentrification, the cost of which is small town ‘authenticity.’
