Norm Bell defeated Josh Coder by 12 votes after all the ballots were counted after yesterday’s town election.
Coder requested poll watchers be present during the voting process. As a result, Oxford live-streamed the election process since poll watchers are not referenced in the town charter.
Bell told his supporters, “I want to congratulate Josh on his willingness to run for commissioner. I hope he will continue to lend his energy, to work for the greater good of “Camp Oxford”, as we come together to address the challenges that lie ahead.”
Russ Gray says
This is a great step forward for the town. Norm will provide the experience and a “get things done” approach that has made him successfull in all of his Oxford volunteer activities. We look forward to his leadership that will complement the other town leaders as they determine and initiate resolute actions for the future.
Terry Hebert says
Well done Norm. You are the best man one.

Andy McCormick says
Wait, the guy who lost asked for poll watchers? In Oxford? What does that say about his opinion of all the nice folks in Oxford who volunteered to support the election?
Sounds like the right guy won.
Meg Pease-Fye says
I am shocked that the guy who chose not to debate received as many votes as he did! How can non-participation in the political process be so acceptable to voters?
