I only wish the news had come out earlier of your involvement with the congressmen who met with President Trump on December 21, 2020 to discuss how to induce VP Pence to participate in the attempt to overturn the 2020 election. I would have turned in an index card to ask you some questions at the Oxford monthly fire house breakfast.
First, I’d have asked you on what basis you believed former President Trump’s story about election fraud. What evidence did you see to support your decision not to vote to certify the electoral college vote on January 6, 2021? Did you ask Mr. Trump about that issue when you met with him on December 21st?
I’d have asked you if the election was fraudulent, how come so many Republican governors, US congressmen and senators were elected on all the same ballots? How did that work for y’all but not for Trump?
I’d have asked you if you were aware that it was your constitutional duty to certify the electoral college vote unless you had reliable information to the contrary. Since I haven’t seen any evidence supporting Trump’s claim, I don’t think you did your constitutional duty and thus participated in the insurrection plot.
I’d also have asked you if you were aware of the December 18-19 White House meeting with General Flynn, Rudy Giuliani, the Overstock.com guy and Sidney Powell. I trust that you were aware on the 20th of Trump’s Tweet announcing that his “followers” should come to Washington, “Be there, will be wild!”. It is extremely difficult for me to believe your die-hard Trump supporter group present with Trump at the White House the very next day didn’t hear about the tentative plans for January 6th. I believe every congressional attendee on the 20th of December (you, Gohmert, Brooks, Gosar, Greene, Biggs and others) all voted against certification of the electoral count. Wasn’t that part of y’all’s plot to undermine the duly executed, free and fair election of 2020?
You may not have been watching the January 6th Committee’s presentations of evidence and testimony from many Republican Trump Administration White House insiders. The overall picture is damning, especially for those of you who swore your oaths to defend the US Constitution. I would think that you ought to testify yourself voluntarily to explain your non-involvement with these criminal plot activities.
Otherwise, I would ask that you immediately tender your resignation as Representative of Maryland District 1 because of the aforementioned illegal, dishonorable and wholly un american behavior. If not, perhaps we’ll have some index cards to submit questions for you to explain yourself at the next firehouse breakfast in Oxford in August.

You’re as bad as the Post and the Times,
I assume your all Socialist. Very sad.
Charles Zvirman says
Socialism is a scare word they have hurled at every advance the people have made in the last 20 years.
Socialism is what they called public power. Socialism is what they called social security.
Socialism is what they called farm price supports.
Socialism is what they called bank deposit insurance.
Socialism is what they called the growth of free and independent labor organizations.
Socialism is their name for almost anything that helps all the people.
When the Republican candidate inscribes the slogan “Down With Socialism” on the banner of his “great crusade,” that is really not what he means at all.
What he really means is “Down with Progress–down with Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal,” and “down with Harry Truman’s fair Deal.” That’s all he means.

I think you nailed it, Mr. Terrone!. In case people don’t know, if you go to a meeting with Harris, you are not allowed to speak to him. You can only write questions on an index card, have it vetted by a handler, and then Harris may or may not answer his constituent’s questions.
Francine De Sanctis says
Thank you Mickey for your accurate depiction of our esteemed Congressman.
His gun toting wasn’t bad enough to make District 1 the laughing stock of the Eastern shore, but now we have the Nation wondering how we could elect a person involved in the January 6 Insurrection. What will it take to get rid of this embarrassment sitting in Congress?
Stephen Schaare says
Hi Francine, With such loathing and bloodlust expressed for Dr. Harris by so many, you wonder why he has a carry permit?
I would do the exact same thing, with a back up 2″ Smith on the ankle.
James Wilson says
no one is expressing loathing or bloodlust. I am reading about people being frustrated at not being able to ask harris direct questions. harris attempted to carry a gun onto the House floor. harris attended a meeting with trump and other republicans to discuss how to overthrow a free and fair election. harris needs to answer some questions from his constituents. We are waiting for the chance. Let me guess that it will never happen.
Mickey Terrone says
As a concerned citizen who agrees that mental health is a major issue for gun control, I’d reject or revoke any approval or renewal of a licence to carry a gun for Andy Harris. Any person who exists in an irrational, fantasy world believing Trump’s Big Lie story has no business carrying a gun. If Harris is simply claiming he believes the Big Lie so he can remain in Trump’s good graces, that is no better reflection of his character or state of mind. Have you forgotten that he has already been caught carrying a gun trying to get past the metal detector outside the House Chamber in January, 2021. He desperately tried to hand it to a fellow congressman who immediately refused the offer. Harris was also involved in an emotional near physical altercation in the House Chamber.
This clearly appears to be Harris’ own bloodlust. Frankly, I’d be concerned that Harris himself could be considered a threat. With his paranoid state of mind, his defensiveness and his unwillingness to face up to reality, it seems to me he could easily snap if someone looks at him wrong.
He doesn’t answer questions directly. He reqires index cards be submitted beforehand. Whether someone has to give him the answers or he is unable to think on his feet (or his posterior), it doesn’t demonstrate confidence in him.

I wholeheartedly add my name to this request for an explanation of his behavior by our elected representative in Congress.

Socialist or fascist? Democrat or Republican? It matters not. Andy Harris has some ‘splainin’ to do!
Ellen Sheridan Walsh says
I agree wholeheartedly with Mr. Terrone. Thank you for laying out the case on our esteemed senator.
Barbara Denton says
I would suggest you watch 2000 Mules to see how the election fraud was pulled off. Congressman Harris’ behavior was not illegal, dishonorable or unAmerican. Every White House testifier has been stating lies, inuendos and statements inferring bad behavior on Trump’s part as they are Washington hangers on and want a DC job so bad they can taste it. They are lying and distancing themselves from the Trump Admin. trying to get back into the DC in crowd. They learned no ethics in school and now they are practicing their immoral behavior in public. Many of these people were not insiders and would sell their soul to be back in the cesspool that DC represents.
Mickey Terrone says
Having now read about the 2000 Mules ruse, I can share the following information that blows away these desperately shallow claims:https://apnews.com/article/2022-midterm-elections-covid-technology-health-arizona-e1b49d2311bf900f44fa5c6dac406762
If people like Ms. Denton have proof of any significant voter fraud, please present it. Numerous key states like Georgia, Arizona and Pennsylvania (among others) followed up with one or several recounts. The dismally false claims by Giuliani and others failed miserably in 62 different cases, often rejected by Trump-appointed judges. SCOTUS unanimously rejected a Trump Campaign lawsuit. Trump’s pathetic call to Brad Raffensberger of Georgia asking for 10,000+ votes was taped. His tweets calling for a “wild” march to the capitol is on video and Proud Boys themselves have testified that they were responding to Trump’s calls for overturning the election.
Trump may have dragged many deluded Americans into his fantasy world of claiming absurdities like voter fraud, but don’t forget he claimed before both the 2016 and 2020 elections that if he lost, the elections would necessarily have been rigged. And folks like you and Trump completely fail to explain how many Republicans on those same ballots won their races. That you are claiming the fraud was just against Trump and no other Republicans is almost obscenely childish.
No ma’am. There comes a time when liars like Trump and his blind followers like Andy Harris, have to deal with reality. The time is here for them to be brought to justice if they truly committed crimes. Willfully supporting Trump’s insurrection by voting against the certification of the nationwide electoral vote results – even after numerous recounts controlled by Republican state officials, would warrant charges and conviction if he could be shown to be aware of the plot and complicit in it.
Trump has dragged many Republican officials down to his level of scoundrel. He has dragged millions of good Republican conservatives down with him. Y’all can make any absurd claim you choose, but the legal system will now work to bring Trump, his co-conspirators and followers back to reality. America will be the better for it. Average Republicans will breathe a sigh of relief to get out from under this threat to this great country’s beacon of democracy for the whole world.

Dear Mickey,
Thank you for saying so eloquently what we’ve all been feeling about Andy Harris. Would it be worth it to gather a crowd of Talbot citizens at the August breakfast in Oxford and all write a variation of these questions? There would be three of us from this household ready to attend.
James Wilson says
I smell something fishy in harris recently asking that language be put in FY-23 appropriations to do something about the blue catfish. I assume he wants us to think he is actually doing something other than voting to not allow a freely elected president to take office.
Mr. harris: if you have any info that there was fraud in the 2020 presidential election, please contact the Jan. 6 committee immediately. They would love to hear from you.
If you do not have any evidence then you should resign for not adhering to your oath to the U.S. Constitution.
PS: is there any provision that harris can be removed from office for dereliction of duty?
