From the desk of Plein Air Easton: The 9th Annual Plein Air–Easton! Competition & Arts Festival is underway! July 15-21, 2013.

The event kicked off the 9th Annual Plein Air-Easton! Competition & Arts Festival, which runs through July 21. Plein Air-Easton! is the premier plein air festival in America.
The main competition features 58 of the best plein air artists in the world competing for more than $20,000 in prizes. Awards will be announced Friday, July 19 at the Collectors’ Preview Party at the Academy Art Museum.
Hundreds more artists will participate in the Saturday Quick Draw competition on Saturday, July 20.
Young artists may participate in workshops and a special quick draw during Plein Air-Easton! The Next Generation on Sunday, July 21.
The work of local artists will be exhibited at the Local Color show at the Tidewater Inn on July 19-21.
The festival offers a wide array of gallery exhibits, workshops, demonstrations, and lectures throughout the week.
The weekend also includes the “Out of the Box” Exhibit & Sale on Saturday and Plein Air-Easton! Gallery Walk & Progressive Brunch on Sunday.
