Rep. Harris would Support a National ‘Heartbeat’ Abortion Ban

June 29, 2022 by Spy Desk

WYPR – 88.1 FM Baltimore reports that Maryland’s lone Republican congressman U.S. Rep. Andy Harris, who represents the first district, said he would support a national abortion ban if a fetus has a heartbeat.

If the legislation was passed by Congress, abortions after six weeks into a pregnancy would be illegal nationwide. The six week mark is often before many women know they might be pregnant.

Harris is out of sync with MD & the 1st. District.
    Time to bid farewell Andy.

  2. Kathy Romberger says

Is Harris going to protect the children after they are born from predators and abusers? Lots of them in Maryland and it’s swept under the rug.

  3. Francine De Sanctis says

Why should this be any different? Harris has never been in tune with what his constituents want. Can we talk about bringing a gun into the Congressional chamber?????
PLEASE VOTE HIM OUT OF OFFICE, so we can get someone representing us in Congress.

  4. Brian H. Childs says

    June 29, 2022 at 4:16 PM

I think we should ban all members of congress who do not have a soul.

  5. Jerry McConnell says

This eunuch has a great agenda—follow along with wherever the Christian white nationalist army of dunces is marching. Classic example of a guy who has academic achievements under his belt but can’t think for himself…..err, maybe that’s his problem.
Don’t get in his way, though, or he’ll gun ya down.

  6. Carol Voyles says

“While the heart does begin to develop at around six weeks, at this point the heart as we know it does not yet exist,” said Dr. Ian Fraser Golding, a pediatric and fetal cardiologist at Rady Children’s Hospital.

Instead, at six weeks, the embryo will develop a tube that generates sporadic electrical impulses that eventually coordinate into rhythmic pulses, he said.
Six weeks of pregnancy is closer to four weeks of actual development, because pregnancy is measured from the first day of a woman’s last period, before she is actually pregnant.

Dr. Harris surely has access to this information.

  7. Deirdre LaMotte says

Another reason not to vote for Harris. Please Harris, do your district a favor and move to Hungry, your mother ship of a fascist state.

UGH, someone’s mother should have had the right to choose.

  8. Michael Davis says

    June 30, 2022 at 7:14 AM

Harris works against the people of Maryland.

After Marylanders voted for Biden, Harris voted to overthrow the entire election so Marylanders’ votes would not count. Most Marylanders want women to have a right to choose, so Harris is for a national law that will void the will of Marylanders on this important issue.

Given his interest in trying to sabotage the will of Maryland voters and Maryland laws, it would be better for everyone if he moved to another state.

  9. Kathy Kopec says

    June 30, 2022 at 3:23 PM

Will Andy Harris help pass legislation to subsidize child care services so the mother can afford to work?
And if the woman can’t terminate her pregnancy, how about mandatory vasectomies for the father?

  10. Al DiCenso says

    June 30, 2022 at 3:25 PM

Rep. Harris is an election denier and a Trump boot licker. I am a lifelong Republican and have no use for the likes of him. I will vote for his opponent in the primary, and if he’s on the Fall ballot I will vote for whomever is his opponent at that time.

  11. Dennis Smith says

    June 30, 2022 at 5:53 PM

If I was going for an operation and Mr Harris was introduced as my anaesthetist I would be out of there in a hurry.

  12. Katherine Herbert says

    July 10, 2022 at 2:53 PM

Andy Harris has a good and true heart.
    Thank you Andy
